Computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) with AutoCAD and Inventor
Learning to use a CAD system is similar to learning a new language. It is necessary to begin with the basic alphabet and to learn how to use it correctly and effectively through practice. By studying computer drawing, students gain first experience of work with Autodesk computer-aided design systems AutoCAD and Inventor Professional. They are trained to design three-dimensional (3D) parametrical objects and create detailed twodimensional (2D) drawings. The acquired knowledge is applied for further studies as well as practical work in preparing graphical material and mechanical design works. The philosophy behind this book is to learn by doing through laboratory works, which helps students to gain experience, thereby understanding the creation of 2D and 3D objects.
